Concern for the environment

We've been concerned about the effects of our products and packaging on the environment for as long as we've been in business. Penguin takes your safety, and that of the planet, seriously.

For more than 20 years, Penguin aerosol products have contained no harmful chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) propellants. Nor do our existing aerosols contain toxic chemicals such as Freon or Trichlor III. And to show our commitment to environmental safety, we've developed and marketed new product technologies, such as shoe care sponges and non-aerosol foaming cleaners, which are the most effective cleaning products on the market.

Everything Penguin produces and distributes is also 100% free of PVC (polyvinyl chloride), one of the most hazardous forms of plastic on the planet. PVC poses serious human health and environmental risks during manufacture and disposal. Penguin doesn't use PVC in our products or packaging. We use RPTE for our clamshells and blisters.

Penguin's athletic insole products are often made of Poron Foam and polyurethane foam, an effective PVC substitute. Polyurethane is an easily recyclable, chlorine-free foam that produces a durable, flexible insole, one that your feet - and your conscience - can feel good about.
